Rend Diab founded The Well Circle to merge her medical training, organizational and educational skills, and her zeal for wellness.
Professionally, Dr. Rend is a US board-certified physician and surgeon specializing in ophthalmology for over 20 years. She currently serves in that capacity in her private practice in Northwest Indiana. But even prior to that, she’s been a wellness enthusiast with an interest in natural and traditional treatments.
She is the mother of three children, around whom she has initiated and designed a variety of community and educational projects, over the past 24 years.
She is the cofounder of Carriers of Light full-time Islamic school in the Chicago suburbs and currently serves on their board of directors. She also serves on the board of her local masjid, the Mecca Center, and chairs the Wellness Committee there.
Her humanitarian concerns have led her to multiple overseas relief trips, both as a physician, a civilian, and an Arabic translator.
Islamically, she had the honor to study with female teachers in Syria, starting in 1996, as well as take classes online & in person with many prominent teachers over the years. She obtained her ijaza in tajweed from the esteemed Syrian scholar Shaykh Hasan Al-Kurdi (may Allah ﷻ have mercy on him) 27 years ago, and has shared her knowledge and love of Quran by teaching women of all ages and backgrounds since that time.
She has been involved in teaching and establishing programs and curricula for multiple Islamic weekend schools and a homeschooling co-op. Currently she focuses most of her educational initiatives on content creation and dissemination through her personal social media page, her medical website (randdiab.com), and The Well Circle channels.
In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends (joking & laughing are favorite past-times), playing and coaching sports (such as pickleball & softball), and engaging in physical activities (like walking & lifting).
