What is the Quran Circle?

A group of sisters coming together virtually to complete a collective khatm of Quran monthly. They will also share in a group khatm dua and their reflections from Quranic verses.

How does it work?

  • Groups: There will be 30 readers per group.
  • Portion Assignment: Each person will be assigned one portion (a juz or para which is 1/30th of the Quran) to read in either in Arabic, English translation, or both, based on your choice, each month. The next month, you will be assigned to read the next consecutive juz.
  • Reading Schedule: All group members will be reading their assigned portion on their own within each month.
  • Collective Completion: Because 30 group members will each read a different juz of the Quran, as a group, we will complete a collective khatm monthly.  You will also complete an individual khatm every 2.5 years.
  • Monthly Gathering: Once at the end of each month we will meet on Zoom for a virtual group dua (khatm dua). You can request any personal duas you would like to be included during this dua session.

What do I get if I join this group?

  • Access to a whatsapp group where sisters share personal reflections based on their readings & encourage one another to make a regular habit of engaging with the Quran.
  • Access to a monthly virtual session for dua recitation and hearing a short talk from different speakers.
  • Information on resources available to advance your personal relationship with the Quran.

FAQ:

Reward:

Every letter of Quran we recite is rewarded, so even for those who struggle, there is excessive reward in reading it in Arabic.

“Whoever recites one letter of the Quran will be rewarded for it, and the reward will be multiplied ten times.”
– Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) [Tirmidhi]

But reading for understanding, including reading the English translation, also has a lot of value.

“Whoever reads the Quran, he should seek to understand it.”
– Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
